It was learnt that Ezea, in company with two of his colleagues, was abducted on June 26 at Koluama, in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

Butswat explained that unknown gunmen had earlier attacked the facility of OS/LEX, an offshore firm, off Dodo oilfield, in Amatu and Ezetu area of the state.
He disclosed that the gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, seized three members of staff of the company during the attack.
According to him, “The victims were kept in a camp between Azuzuama and Koluama, in Southern Ijaw LGA.
“But Emaka Ezea, male, 37 years, a chemical engineer, escaped from the abductors. He trekked for two days before a fisherman found him and brought him to the Marine Police operatives that were patrolling the creeks.”
He added that the Marine Police and the anti-kidnapping unit had intensified efforts to rescue the remaining victims and arrest the kidnappers.
