Police say the elderly woman's action, in retaliation to
being hit in the mouth, was "clearly an unusual method of self-defense".
An elderly woman who was hit in the mouth by an unidentified
man fended off a further attack – by squeezing his testicles. According to the
pensioner, she was walking her dog near an old airfield near Cheltenham when
the attacker came out of a wooded area and shouted: "Get off my
land." He struck her in the face, and she immediately reacted by grabbing
his testicles, causing him to fall to the ground in agony. She calmly walked
away in the opposite direction, and didn't look back. Gloucestershire Police
are now looking for the man responsible, who left the woman with a small cut
and some bruising. A police spokesman said: "Clearly this was an unusual
method of self-defense and the attacker got more than he bargained for. "It
would have been a terrible experience for a person of any age." The
attacker has been described as white, aged between 25 and 35, and of a slim
build. At the time, he was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and a navy
baseball cap. Anyone who witnessed the incident, which took place in Stoke
Orchard at about 11.30am on 4 August, has been urged to call 101.
