A group, Buhari Friends Organisation, intend to stage a protest if President Muhammadu Buhari fails to appoint members of his cabinet based on merit and contributions to his emergence as President.
The National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Athanasius Okon, who stated this in Uyo, said that the group was worried over the delay in the naming of Buhari’s cabinet since he was inaugurated on May 29.
The group, on Sunday, hosted the stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress.
Okon asked Buhari to shun some groups in Akwa Ibom State, who have been claiming they supported him during the presidential election.
He said, “We will embark on a protest if Buhari fails to appoint members of his cabinet based on merit and contributions to his emergence as the President of Nigeria.
“Our members have to be represented in the new cabinet.”
