Bayelsa
State Police Command said on Friday it rescued a 37-year-old Chemical Engineer,
Emeka Ezea, an employee of Oslex Company, an offshore firm in Bayelsa, from his
abductors.
It was learnt that Ezea,
in company with two of his colleagues, was abducted on June 26 at Koluama, in
Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

Butswat, said the men of the Marine Police Department and the Anti-Kidnapping
Unit of the state police command carried out the rescue on Wednesday.
Butswat explained that
unknown gunmen had earlier attacked the facility of OS/LEX, an offshore firm,
off Dodo oilfield, in Amatu and Ezetu area of the state.
He disclosed that the
gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, seized three members of staff of the
company during the attack.
According to him, “The
victims were kept in a camp between Azuzuama and Koluama, in Southern Ijaw LGA.
“But Emaka Ezea, male,
37 years, a chemical engineer, escaped from the abductors. He trekked for two
days before a fisherman found him and brought him to the Marine Police
operatives that were patrolling the creeks.”
He added that the Marine
Police and the anti-kidnapping unit had intensified efforts to rescue the
remaining victims and arrest the kidnappers.
