MUHAMMADU BUHARI SWORN IN AS PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

Today we make history in Nigeria as President Muhammadu Buhari becomes 2nd former Military Head of State to be elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after Olusegun Obasanjo.

The event is ongoing at the Eagles Square in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory. Past Nigerian leaders as well as other world leaders converged on the Federal Capital Territory to witness the inauguration.
Moment before this Professor Yemi Osinbajo was invited to the podium to be sworn in as Vice President of the federal Republic of Nigeria. President Muhammadu Buhari in his speech acknowledges the past president Goodluck Jonathan. He made it clear that he will encourage every part of the government and listen to the grievances of Nigeria. In his words he says “I cannot recall when Nigeria enjoyed so much goodwill as now… Nigeria has a window of opportunity to fulfill her potentials”.
He also made it clear that the command center shall be relocated to Maiduguri and will remain until Boko Haram is subdued. This is the biggest event to hold in Nigeria.
