Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late Whitney Houston and
Bobby Brown died on Sunday. Brown had been placed in hospice care following a
months-long hospitalization after being found unconscious in her home. She was
22 years old. Brown was born on March 4,
1993 in Livingston, New Jersey and was the only child from Houston and Brown’s
marriage.
She grew up in the spotlight, even appearing with her parents on
their Bravo reality show. When the two singers divorced in 2006, Brown went to
live with her mother. They remained close until her mother’s death in 2011. Brown came from a long line
of singers,
Brown was an aspiring singer. She even performed with her mother on
Houston’s One
Wish: the Holiday Album, as well as in a 2009 live performance on Good
Morning America. When Houston died in 2011
from a combination of heart disease and drug use, an “inconsolable” Brown was
briefly hospitalized. The 2012 reality series, The Houston’s: On Our Own, showed her coping with her grief and her mother’s
legacy. In January of this year,
Brown was found unresponsive
in a bathtub by her fiancé Nick Gordon. She was placed in a medically induced
coma for six months, but never regained consciousness.
