Pandemonium broke out in Oshogbo,
the Osun State capital, when fire nearly razed down a filling station along
Dada Estate. Our correspondent reports that the fire, whose cause
is yet to be known, destroyed the mini shop within the filling station and also
left two siblings believed to be children of the owner of the property dead. Sympathizers
trying to put out the inferno at the Bovas Filling Station, along Dada Estate
in Oshogbo, the Osun state Capital could not hold back the tears. Eye
witnesses, who spoke to us off camera said the fire started just before noon
adding that the Osun State Fire Service had been there with one tanker but had
to go refill when they ran out of water. Although the cause of the fire cannot
be ascertained just yet but an eyewitness, Ojo Williams, said four people were
in the mini shop when the fire erupted. He said the woman believed to be the
wife of the owner of the filling station and a child had been rescued and taken
to the hospital leaving two children in the inferno. Few minutes later, another
state fire service arrived and eventually was able to put out the fire and the
bodies of the 12 and 4 year old kids caught in the fire was evacuated.
